Prior to joining AHA, Mwayi has worked with the government of Malawi for six years in the ministry of Agriculture, Irrigation Water and Sanitation. Her time was spent working with the community villages helping farmers from all different households improve their livelihoods through the adoption of new farming technologies and other farming practices in crop production, animal production, group management (group dynamics), leadership skills, and mainstreaming gender equality and HIV/AIDS. In 2011, Mwayi joined The Hunger Project Malawi where her main role was to coordinate maternal health activities at the district level including the under five clinics, HIV AIDS, women empowerment, livelihoods, and managing the district team and office operations. Mwayi also facilitated the launch of a new project that constructed a new community resource center and a maternity health center. In 2022, Mwayi joined AHA as the Administrative Assistant where she manages the the organization’s operations including office management, human resources, administrative duties, programmatic support, specific communications tasks, and more to allow AHA’s patient-centered programs to run smoothly and effectively.
