In preparation for this week’s surgical camp with Dr. Baker Henson and Nurse Sara Gensmer, there were a few updates needed at Kabudula Community Hospital (Kab).
In the past, AHA has paid to refill the oxygen cylinder, but we are so proud to have partnered with the District Health Office (DHO) so that they refilled the tank for this camp. This demonstrates a belief and support in our work that we truly appreciate.
Additionally, one of the tables from the operating room needed repairs. The DHO has a workshop in town that was able to fix the table so it’s now fully usable.
In thanks to the DHO for their contributions, AHA coordinated transportation for the (very heavy) oxygen cylinder and table back to Kab. Below are pictures of Patrick, Kab’s anesthetist, wheeling in the oxygen.
The Kab team also did a deep scrubbing in theater in preparation for what will inevitably be a busy week of treatments!
